Trinidad Raj Molina - Accompaniment OrganizerTrinidad Raj got his formal start in immigration work as the founder of VIA Immigrant and Refugee Ministry for the Diocese of Kansas City, MO-St.Joseph. At that time ICE was conducting heavy raids on families, and he accompanied many immigrant families who were victimized by family separations. Seeking to address the larger social factors around the issue, he later started working for AIRR to keep up the work of accompaniment together with community organizing to work for the larger changes we need to see in this country. He once spear-headed a campaign to shut down a migrant youth detention center that wanted to land in Kansas City.
For the past several years he's gained a lot of experience working with asylum seekers while coordinating with the larger community network. He believes people aren't problems to be solved, but people connecting together are the solution! His current goal is to build a larger network of asylum seekers and partners that can crowd-source community-based solutions so asylum seekers can find new ways forward for legal help, workforce solutions, and housing. |
