Program Coordinator

AIRR is a faith- based organization led by talented and courageous clergy and lay leaders from congregations and community members. We are striving to create a network that supports and empowers the undocumented immigrant community in the greater Kansas City area. The network provides tools and resources for people to be able to navigate their lives with confidence and pride. No person should live in fear of being torn apart from their family or home. This work is done collaboratively with many other organizations.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Successfully promote and support the mission of Advocates for Immigrant Rights and Reconciliation by providing day-to-day programming that educates and organizes immigrant and ally populations in the Kansas City Metro area. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for planning, organizing, leading and evaluating AIRR’s programming
  •  Develop and maintain curriculum for immigration 101’s, Know your Rights and Accompaniment program. 
  • Coordinate Immigration 101’s, Know your Rights, including scheduling speakers, and preparing materials.
  • Maintain records related to program activities such as collecting data necessary for reports and prepare financial statements and maintain records pertaining to program activities.
  • Schedule program work, oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of the program and set priorities for managing the program.
  • Manage outreach to the community.
• Support and strengthen community partnerships through outreach, education, and learning opportunities.
• Recruit and train volunteers.
• Manage content for social media, and newsletter. 
• Collaborate with AIRR staff and volunteers to achieve program goals. 
• Advocate and promote awareness of immigrant  populations to promote community acceptance.
• Assist the ED in the preparation of grant requests and funding continuation from outside sponsors. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Skills:

• Fluency in a language in addition to English is preferred, (e.g.: Spanish, Somali, Arabic, Swahili, French).

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• Qualified candidates should have at least three plus years experience in program coordination, with increasing responsibility.
• Experience in providing direct service to immigrants.
• Candidates should have completed Gamaliel National Leadership Training, or be willing to attend the next scheduled session (if selected).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and moving.
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
• Must have the physical ability to complete assignments in a variety of environments 
• Must have the physical ability to make visits to a variety of environments that may include walking on rough terrain and climbing stairs.
• Must have physical ability to effectively communicate with others.
• Must have the physical ability and appropriate licensure for driving.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:  
$35,000-$40,000
FICA 
AIRR pays a percentage of Health insurance.
 SCHEDULE:
Full time - This position will include both in-person and remote work set by the ED.
